US aviation maintenance provider Jet East has hired Patrick Moylan as vice president of safety, where he will oversee all aspects of safety throughout the nationwide organisation. As an experienced leader, safety expert and long-tenured aviation professional, Moylan is prepared to elevate the safety culture that already exists within the company.

Moylan began his career with the US Marine Corps where he served as an air traffic controller. He transitioned the knowledge he gained while in the armed forces to the civilian arena, holding roles such as senior director of health, safety and environmental at Signature Flight Support and several safety positions supporting the FAA's Office of System Safety and NextGen. Prior to joining Jet East, he served as a senior associate at general aviation consultancy FBO Partners where he led the safety management function which provided services to FBOs, airport operators and business flight departments.

Moylan is a Certified Safety Professional with more than 25 years of experience in the field of aviation safety and earned a master's degree in business administration from Michigan State University, with a focus on integrative management. As an authorised OSHA outreach trainer and an accredited IS-BAH auditor, he brings valued experience and a tremendous skillset to Jet East.

“Safety must always be the number one priority in our line of work," says Jet East president and CEO Stephen Maiden. "Having Patrick as part of our leadership team will advance the level of sophistication and oversight that is necessary to ensure a robust safety programme. We are fortunate to have Patrick, and I look forward to the positive impact he will have across all sectors of the business.”
