Elliott Aviation's teams at Illinois and Iowa have been forging ahead with installations of the Garmin G5000 for Citation Excel/XLS. They have performed 10 to date, and are currently booked up through June.
Conrad Theisen is pleased with the progress of Elliott Aviation's G5000 programme.

Garmin retrofitter and MRO provider Elliott Aviation has completed its 10th Garmin G5000 equipped Citation Excel/XLS aircraft. The aircraft work scope also included a Doc 6, engine hot sections, cabinets and Gogo Avance L3 along with the company's wi-fi enablement STC.

The 10 installations to date have been completed at both its headquarters in Moline, Illinois and in Des Moines, Iowa. The STC was issued on 7 June, 2019, and Elliott started its first installation on a Citation 560XL.

The Garmin G5000 for the Citation Excel/XLS replaces all existing Honeywell Primus 1000 avionics, including the autopilot and flight director. The retrofit has WAAS/LPV, ADS-B, XM weather, electronic charts, SafeTaxi, engine monitor data and emergency descent mode. It also has optional synthetic vision, turbulence detection, SurfaceWatch, underspeed protection, Chartview, CPDLC and lightning and hail prediction.

“The G5000 programme for the Citation Excel and XLS has had a tremendously successful start,” says director of avionics sales Conrad Theisen. “With well over 12 years of leading the industry in full cockpit Garmin retrofits, we take great pride in our experience. We're happy to bring Citation Excel and XLS operators the latest avionics solution for their aircraft.”
