Former jet pilot makes 100th active winglet purchase
A Citation owner has accepted the 100th installation of Tamarack Active Winglets. The deal was celebrated at the manufacturer's Idaho HQ.
Tamarack CEO and founder Nick Guida with Larry and Barbara McKoane, the owners of the 100th jet installed with Active Winglets.

Retired California Air National Guard jet pilot and Clawson Honda and Clawson Motorsports president and CEO Larry McKoane has received the 100th installation of Tamarack Active Winglets on his Cessna Citation. After a ceremony at Tamarack Aerospace headquarters at Sandpoint, Idaho to celebrate, McKoane picked up his aircraft and, along with his wife Barbara, flew back to their California home.

“The reason we chose Tamarack winglets was primarily for performance improvements on the aircraft that allowed us to expand our business capabilities throughout the west coast,” says McKoane. “We're also looking forward to the increase in safety because if you fly into high altitude airports in the summertime, the winglets are going to improve our safety margin substantially.”

Active Winglets enable aircraft to use much less fuel, and to fly farther with greater payloads and a more sustainable carbon footprint. “This 100th installation is great for Larry and his bank account,' adds president Jacob Klinginsmith. “Our Active Winglets are a sustainability boon. Think about the environmental impact of saving 25 per cent of your fuel. It's a huge step forward in protecting our natural resources and for aviation.”
