Staehelin and Schärli take up ASB posts
Benedict Staehelin will be responsible for driving new business and revenue by managing prospect leads and quotations, while Pirmin Schärli has been named maintenance manager only two years into his ASB career.
Benedict Staehelin will head up customer relations.

Air Service Basel has welcomed Benedict Staehelin as head of customer relations and projects and promoted deputy maintenance manager Pirmin Schärli to maintenance manager.

As head of customer relations and projects. Staehelin will be responsible for driving new business and revenue by managing prospect leads and quotations. He joins Air Service Basel with over 20 years of experience in the airline and executive aviation industry, and is looking forward to using this experience to drive new business into the FBO facility.

CEO Claudio Lasagni comments: “We are thrilled to have Benedict on board and look forward to the fresh perspective he will bring to the company.”

In addition to Staehelin's hire, deputy maintenance manager Schärli takes over the maintenance lead at Air Service Basel after only two years in the company. Schärli's passion and talent in his role is what made him stand out for promotion after former manager Patrick Lehrer left the company late September.

Lasagni states: “I have been incredibly impressed by the rapid progress and commitment Pirmin has dedicated to Air Service Basel since the day he started. Promoting him to the head of the maintenance department was, therefore, a logical step for us, and we are looking forward to the next phase that his leadership will bring.”

Located at the southwest corner of the EuroAirport in Basel, Air Service Basel's IS-BAH II certified FBO terminal offers a full range of customer-focused services for business aviation including aircraft hangar and apron parking, fuelling, maintenance, management, passenger and crew support, and VIP handling.

ASB's EASA and FAA approved maintenance department offers airframe, power plant and avionics services and can facilitate a wide range of aircraft including piston, turboprop and turbine engines. The company is an authorised dealer of premium providers including Garmin, Honeywell and Rockwell Collins, and is also warranted by the FAA to carry out ATC transponder and altitude reporting tests on any aircraft.
