Collins system debuts 4K video format
Collins Aerospace is expecting to wow Global 5500 and 6500 passengers with an immersive entertainment experience, with business aviation's first 4K high-definition cabin system.
The CMS 4K video is part of Collins' Venue system.

Collins Aerospace Systems has debuted its first-to-market 4K video offering on Bombardier's new Global 5500 and 6500 aircraft cabin. This new capability on the Venue cabin management system (CMS) provides customers sharper images, more vibrant colours and a cinematic and immersive entertainment experience. Compared to a full HD 1080p image, 4K resolution provides four times the pixels, making for a clearer and more defined picture.

“With Venue, we are striving to anticipate customer demands while remaining adaptable for future technologies in the business jet and V/VIP market,” says vice president and general manager, business and regional systems Christophe Blanc. “This implementation continues a long history of working successfully with Bombardier to provide innovative solutions that contribute to setting them apart in the market.”

More than 1,300 aircraft are currently equipped with Venue, which has been customised for Bombardier to best meet the needs of its passengers and to offer the same ultra-fast, flexible, reliable and intuitive system.
