Airplus certifies wi-fi for Twin Otters
Twin Otter owners and operators can now enjoy connectivity and exchange of data in the air, following the STC for GoDirect routers awarded to airplus.
Zimex Aviation COO Florian Kindzorra.

Friedrichshafen-based MRO airplus Maintenance has been awarded an STC for Honeywell’s wi-fi GoDirect router for the Viking Twin Otter DHC6-400 aircraft. It has installed a router for Switzerland-based operator Zimex Aviation.

Connectivity and exchange of data is essential for the continued success of operators' businesses and missions. With airplus’ STC for Honeywell’s Aspire 200, and the recently received STC for the GoDirect wi-fi router, Twin Otter operators and owners now have a cost effective solution to deliver and enjoy unparalleled cabin connectivity in the air from a single router, enhancing the passenger experience and mission capabilities.

“I’m very thankful for the great cooperation of our partner Zimex Aviation and the outstanding performance of both teams on this project,” says COO Florian Kindzorra.

airplus holds an EASA approval for Part 21J (design) Part 21G, (production) Part 145 (maintenance) and an LBA CAMO approval and is specialised in VIP solutions and special missions. With more than 20 years of experience in business and general aviation it offers a multitude of aircraft services.

The company has a large hangar for mid-size aircraft and a larger wide body hangar for aircraft up to B737 size. It offers maintenance, inspections, parts, repairs, avionic upgrades, equipment installations, modifications, refurbishments and other specialised aircraft services. airplus Maintenance is part of the European Air Service Group.
