Read this story in our October 2015 printed issue.

Lufthansa Technik has become the first MRO provider in Europe to install split scimitar winglets on a BBJ. With this modification, the aircraft is the third BBJ in the world to be equipped with the aerodynamically optimised winglets from Aviation Partners Boeing.

The winglets have been on the market since early 2014. They enable kerosene savings of 2.2 per cent and thus increase the range of the aircraft.
