Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has introduced product-specific mobile applications for each aircraft in its in-production fleet. The apps for the Gulfstream G150, G280, G450, G550 and G650 are available now in the Apple App Store.
Each app features interactive elements, including:
- An introduction to the aircraft in the form of an interactive brochure;
- An interactive worldwide city-pair range map;
- Worldwide product support information; and
- An extensive photo gallery.
"This is a dynamic way for customers, operators and aviation enthusiasts to learn more about our extensive fleet, from the high-speed, wide-cabin G150 to the ultra-long-range, ultra-large-cabin G650," said Scott Neal, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, Gulfstream. "We're excited to be able to offer them mobile, on-the-go information on our aircraft.
"Using the interactive worldwide range map, they'll be able to see the capabilities of their particular aircraft. This is a great way for people to interact with and get information on our products."
Gulfstream already offers PlaneBook, an electronic document management system, for iPad. The app provides pilots easy and immediate access to critical flight information and aircraft-specific documents, such as the Airplane Flight Manual, Operating Manual, pilot checklist and the Quick Reference Handbook (QRH). The electronic version of the QRH, which includes emergency flight procedures, serves as the master document that links to all other documents for easy cross-referencing.
The PlaneBook App allows pilots to create and add their own content, including checklists, standard operating procedures and other reference materials. This lets them tailor the app to their particular flying habits or preferences. In addition, since documents and manuals are downloaded straight to their iPad, users will have offline access to all of their important information. In addition, a "History" feature gives pilots even quicker access to the documents they frequently use.
The Gulfstream PlaneBook App as well as the five product-specific applications are available from the App Store on iPad or at www.itunes.com/appstore.
