Investigation after three die in DA42 Romanian demo flight
Three people were killed in a demonstration flight of a DA42 MPP that crashed in the Carpathian mountains in Romania.

Three people were killed in a demonstration flight of a DA42 MPP that crashed in the Carpathian mountains in Romania. Diamond Aircraft Industries reports that the pilot and two passengers died in the crash in an area of steep cliffs and dense forest.

"A Romanian surveying company ordered the aircraft for aerial surveying flights using laser scanning equipment. A part of the sales negotiation included an agreement that a trial application in Romania be carried out with the aircraft in the configuration ordered from Diamond Airborne Sensing," it added. Evaluations are being conducted by an aircraft accident commission and Diamond Aircraft, which adds: "As of yet, there is no evidence of a technical failure and the cause remains unclear."
