MC Air selects Twin Star
MC Air Limited has added a Diamond DA42 Twin Star to its fleet of rental aircraft. Martin Cadman, managing director, said: "We bought it because of the new technology, such as the twin screen display. The other reason was its diesel engines. It is extremely economical, and the fuel isn't taxed, so it has about one sixth of the running costs of a conventional twin.

"It is also nice to fly,' he adds.

The aircraft is currently being dry-leased to Atlantic Flight Training for commercial pilot training at Coventry Airport. Martin said: "They already own two of their own, this is an additional one. They think it's great, especially for instrument training.

"The range is about 1,000nm which means it you can fly anywhere in Europe non-stop... as long as your bladder holds out."
