Thielert AG is to take over parts manufacturer approval and Dallas-based aircraft engine manufacturer Superior Air Parts. SAP is a leading producer of gasoline engines and engine spare parts for small aircraft.

The acquisition will enable Thielert to expand its range of products in the piston engine market.

Chief executive Frank Thielert commented: "SAP is the ideal acquisition to help us enhance our market position and marks our final step into the US-American market for engines and engine components."
