Sikorsky Aircraft's latest offer to end the strike by Teamster Union members has been refused. The offer, which included a general wage increase of up to four per cent, bonuses and a voluntary severance programme was presented to a federal mediator earlier on March 13.

Sikorsky Aircraft's latest offer to end the strike by Teamster Union members has been refused. The offer, which included a general wage increase of up to four per cent, bonuses and a voluntary severance programme was presented to a federal mediator earlier on March 13.

Sikorsky issued a statement saying: "Sikorsky Aircraft is disappointed that the union has not accepted the company's revised contract proposal, which is a fair and generous offer. The union continues to reject the same health care plan that covers all of Sikorsky's other Connecticut hourly and salary employees."

The company states that all of its facilities are 'open for business' during the strike.
