Class A and Coflyt join Garmin's 12-strong flyGarmin network
Garmin has added Class A Insurance and Coflyt to its flyGarmin.com platform, bringing the network to 12 partners and giving general aviation pilots their first FOQA-linked insurance product.
Aircraft owners can access their logs via flyGarmin.com, where they can review flights and playback data.

Garmin is bringing in two new integrations with flyGarmin.com, making it easier for aircraft owners to share flight logs with additional analysis services. Class A Insurance and Coflyt have joined the growing list of analysis services that enable pilots to automatically share aircraft flight logs from their Garmin avionics and gain insights in many different areas including personalised insurance coverage, maintenance tracking, customised reports on engine health, flight analysis and more. These integrations, coupled with Garmin's PlaneSync service, allow aircraft owners to get the most out of the data their Garmin avionics collect every flight.

From startup to shutdown, compatible Garmin avionics can collect a wealth of information about each flight. When appropriately equipped, an aircraft flight log can include GPS track, attitude information, engine data, aircraft total time, departure time, carbon monoxide levels and more. Following the flight, the data can be automatically uploaded to flyGarmin.com via the GDL 60 datalink and PlaneSync service. Data can also be transferred from compatible avionics or via the Flight Stream 510 wireless gateway, which transfers aircraft flight logs to the Garmin Pilot app for upload to flyGarmin.com. Aircraft owners can access their flight logs via flyGarmin.com, where they can review flights and playback data.

With the flyGarmin.com integrations, aircraft owners can opt in to share their flight logs automatically with the service providers they select. Examples include aircraft and flight analysis, engine performance and trend analysis, aircraft record keeping and maintenance services, aircraft scheduling and more.

Garmin customers now have access to 12 integrated analysis and management services through flyGarmin.com.

Class A is a technology-driven aviation insurance carrier that uses real-world flight data analytics to support smarter underwriting and personalised coverage. Through Garmin flight log integration, Class A is launching a FOQA/FDM capability as part of its Virtual Flight Department (VFD), which provides aircraft owners with resources typically available only to large professional flight departments.

Coflyt is a cloud-based aircraft management platform that centralises inspection and maintenance tracking, AD compliance, squawk sheets, scheduling, utilisation and flight data, payments and communications in a single system.

Additional flyGarmin.com integrations include: FlySto, Crewchief Systems, Savvy Aviation, Navi, Brazos Safety Systems, Jet-Care, Pilotbase, TBX, PlaneLogix and AircraftMX. Together, these services support everything from flight school scheduling and maintenance tracking to aircraft record-keeping and engine analysis.

All data analysis integrations are managed through flyGarmin.com. Once sharing is enabled, all current and future flight logs for the selected aircraft will be automatically shared with the service provider. Access to future logs can be changed at any time. Aircraft flight logs are available on flyGarmin.com today for aircraft owners using compatible Garmin avionics.

“Class A continues to revolutionise the aviation safety and insurance sector by placing proactive safety initiatives at the heart of its business philosophy,” states Steve Nicoll, chief aviation officer at Class A. “Moving beyond traditional insurance practices that rely solely on reviewing Pilot History Forms (PHFs), Class A actively invests in technology and strategic relationships that help prevent incidents before they occur.”

By leveraging Garmin's aircraft connectivity and data capabilities with Class A's analytics and aviation risk expertise, the integration lays the foundation for an advanced Flight Ops Quality Assurance (FOQA) tool.

Key features include: post-flight analytics – detailed, objective feedback on every aspect of a flight delivered directly to the pilot within minutes of landing; proactive trend identification – pilots can self-identify and correct potentially hazardous flight trends early, mitigating risk before it leads to an adverse safety event; and positive reinforcement – the platform highlights safe practices and proficient airmanship, reinforcing high standards of flight discipline.

This creates a transparent, efficient insurance experience that rewards safer flying while helping aircraft owners and operators achieve safer outcomes, representing a fundamental shift in how aviation insurance can interact with safety. For Class A, the objective is not simply to use data to evaluate risk after the fact, but to proactively create a continuous safety feedback loop.
