Flexjet has opened a $34m private terminal at the UK’s Farnborough airport, its first facility of this kind in Europe.

The 2,098sqm terminal is situated in a new ramp-side building, separate from the airport’s existing main terminal, and is exclusively for Flexjet aircraft owners and their guests. Flexjet operates a global fleet of more than 350 private jets and helicopters.

It is exclusively for Flexjet aircraft owners and their guests, unlike traditional FBO (fixed base operator) terminals or airport lounge services, which are open to all private or general aviation flyers.

The opening adds to Flexjet’s network of nine private terminals in the US that are established or under development. The company also has a terminal at Teterboro airport serving New York City, while its wider infrastructure includes operations, sales and maintenance across more than 25 locations.

The Farnborough terminal opened two years after construction began, with a ceremony hosted by Flexjet chairman Kenn Ricci.

Ricci said: “This opening establishes one of the most significant branded luxury environments in private aviation and is a defining moment in Flexjet’s global expansion. It is our most ambitious infrastructure completion to date, beyond our North American headquarters.”

The terminal interior, led by Carver Hain Art + Design, includes a full-size recreation of Flexjet’s Gulfstream G700 cabin, featuring a private master bedroom suite, as well as an owners’ bar and lounge and private meeting spaces. In the lobby, a commissioned sculpture, ‘Aero’, by British Canadian artist David Spriggs features swirling cloud-like patterns depicting ‘wingtip vortices’.

Dedicated security screening and immigration are provided by Farnborough airport. The upper floor houses Flexjet’s European headquarters and a tactical control centre for operations and support staff, as well as an expanded Red Label Academy training centre for its nearly 300 cabin servers globally.

The building incorporates 138 solar panels, forecast to generate approximately 37,848kWh annually, and a siphonic drainage system that collects and recycles rainwater for internal use.

The opening follows an $800m investment in Flexjet announced in July 2025 by a consortium led by L Catterton, an affiliate of LVMH. In July 2026, Flexjet became the official private aviation supplier of Formula 1.

Flexjet has also recently opened a 3,530sqm MRO hangar at Farnborough airport, providing dedicated maintenance for its global fleet. The company has more than 1,500 maintenance team members across 15 locations.
