Sheltair Aviation has closed and transitioned its FBO location at Gwinnett County airport in Lawrenceville, Georgia, to existing airport FBO Aircraft Specialists Jet Center. Aircraft Specialists is now the sole FBO onsite.
Sheltair extends its gratitude to Gwinnett County, the airport management team, business and community associates, tenants, and customers for their unwavering partnership and support over the years. Since first establishing operations at KLZU in April 2023, Sheltair has provided the airport with exceptional FBO operations and superior service to the general aviation community.
“We are sincerely thankful to Gwinnett County and the entire airport management team and all our LZU FBO team members for making Sheltair a trusted name at KLZU for the past three years,” shares Lisa Holland, president and CEO of Sheltair.
In alignment with Sheltair's core values of supporting its employees and local communities, Sheltair has worked closely with Aircraft Specialists Jet Center to ensure a seamless operation transition for all its tenants and customers, as well as its FBO team members. Several Sheltair employees at KLZU have been welcomed into new roles with Aircraft Specialists as well as some electing to relocate to other Sheltair locations.
“We're proud of the people who made Sheltair LZU a success. We are confident they'll continue to be successful staying with us or thrive as part of the Aircraft Specialists team at LZU,” continues Holland.
Moving forward, Sheltair is continuing its focus on executing its strategic growth initiatives across the current network, including completing construction projects at Tampa International, Orlando Executive and St Pete-Clearwater International in 2026. There are also several new project starts planned for 2027 at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International, Melbourne Orlando International, Sarasota Bradenton International and Savannah/Hilton Head International airports.
