TAM extends technical service with mobile units
New units in Parana, Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso join the Sao Paulo facility, launched last year, to expand the reach for services outside TAM’s main base. Each has more than 100 items available.
TAM’s Mobile Service Center fleet now covers Minas Gerais, Parana and Mato Grosso.

TAM Aviacao Executiva has expanded its technical operations structure by adding mobile service units in the South, Southeast and Central-West regions of Brazil. Together with its Sao Paulo mobile service unit, launched last year, the Brazilian full service business aviation company now has four locations.

“We made this service available last year and we still have enough demand. The mobile service units helps reduce operational costs for the client, being a versatile, safe and efficient alternative to maintain the airworthiness and reliability of equipment, always as the patron of technical excellence of TAM AE,” says Wellington Amorim, director of the TAM service centre.

This expansion accompanies the growth of activities in strategic regions where maintenance logistics can be a challenge that require agility and flexible solutions. It will also support aircraft that require unscheduled maintenance away from their usual service base, reducing the need for relocation and contributing to the continuity of flights.

Clients from Parana, Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso will be able to count on service within a radius of 300km from their respective capitals. Each of TAM AE’s mobile units carries more than 100 items, from basic hardware to specialised equipment such as a portable GPU, compressor washer, charger and battery analyser.

A wide range of services can be performed directly outside the aircraft, including:

– Troubleshooting in electrical, avionic, airframe and powertrain systems, in addition to AOG services;

– Servicing including lubrication, tyre calibration, nitrogen and oxygen supply;

– Six-month inspections for the King Air family;

– Unscheduled maintenance, including replacement of parts, removal and installation of components and tyre changes;

– Practical operating procedures, such as driving motors with GPU and verifying the capacity of the electrical system (EPS) for backup of emergency batteries.
