Lane Aviation is ideal candidate to join Avfuel network
Positioned between the control tower and passenger terminal at John Glenn Columbus International airport, Lane Aviation offers immediate access to downtown Columbus and central Ohio's major interstate corridors.
Like Avfuel, Lane is family-owned.

A respected and enduring US independent FBO has chosen to join the Avfuel network. Lane Aviation, a third-generation FBO that has served the central Ohio area and beyond since 1935, has become an Avfuel-branded location, bringing together two family-owned aviation companies with more than 140 years of combined experience serving the industry through safety, service and lasting relationships.

As an Avfuel-branded FBO, Lane Aviation now offers customers access to Avfuel Contract Fuel, delivering competitive global fuel pricing and purchasing advantages, along with AVTRIP, one of business aviation's premier customer rewards programmes.

Over nearly a century, Lane Aviation has become an institution in general aviation, proudly supporting aircraft owners and operators out of John Glenn Columbus International airport.

Today, the company remains family owned under the leadership of executive vice president Stastia Spence, whose grandparents, Foster and Ruth Lane, founded the business. In her role, Spence carries forward the same customer-first philosophy that has defined Lane Aviation since its founding. That legacy is reflected throughout the organisation, where many team members have dedicated decades of service to delivering the personalised experience that distinguishes Lane Aviation.

“I was introduced to aviation at a young age, flying alongside my grandfather,” says Spence. “He always kept a stack of phone books in his office so he could prop me up high enough to see over the dashboard of whichever Cessna we were flying. Learning to fly was simply part of growing up in my family. While I didn't initially envision myself working in the family business, a part-time job at Lane Aviation when I was 21 gave me an appreciation for the energy of the airport and, more importantly, the relationships we build with our employees and customers.

“Avfuel felt like a natural fit for Lane Aviation. We're both family-owned, Midwest-rooted companies that place a strong emphasis on integrity, relationships and family values. This partnership allows us to build on those shared values while giving our customers access to Avfuel's industry-leading fuel programmes, global purchasing capabilities and extensive support network. We're excited to begin this partnership with Avfuel and continue building on Lane Aviation's legacy at KCMH.”

Joel Hirst, executive vice president for Avfuel, adds: “Companies like Lane Aviation don't become institutions by accident. For generations, the Lane family has demonstrated what makes independent FBOs so important to our industry: exceptional service, trusted relationships and an unwavering commitment to doing business the right way. We're honoured Lane Aviation chose Avfuel as its branded partner, and we look forward to supporting its continued success with the products, programmes and people that help FBOs thrive.”

Positioned between the control tower and passenger terminal at John Glenn Columbus International airport, Lane Aviation offers immediate access to downtown Columbus and central Ohio's major interstate corridors. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the full-service FBO provides aircraft fuelling, ground handling, customs support, aircraft management, charter coordination, professional de-icing services and maintenance through its FAA Part 145 repair station. Its facilities include 140,000 sq ft of heated hangar space across six hangars capable of accommodating aircraft up to a BBJ, 11.3 acres of ramp space and secure, private facilities designed to meet the needs of business, government and general aviation operators alike.

International and military operators also benefit from Lane Aviation's extensive capabilities, including customs coordination, designation as the airport's Defense Logistics Agency contract fuel provider, exclusive DCA Gateway access for approved operations into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and its industry-leading ‘Quick Turn Commitment’ to complete aircraft service within 15 minutes after customs clearance.

The partnership further strengthens the Avfuel network's presence in a critical Midwest business aviation market while expanding customer access to one of the industry's most respected independent FBOs. Together, Avfuel and Lane Aviation will continue investing in fuel solutions, exceptional service and the trusted partnerships that keep business aviation moving forward.
