APS introduces comprehensive Bombardier UPRT programme
Rather than teaching a separate set of recovery techniques for each aircraft type, APS first develops the foundational knowledge, skills and decision-making competencies pilots need to recognise, prevent and recover.
Competencies are transferable.

Aviation Performance Solutions (APS), an upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT) provider, has launched its new Bombardier Family UPRT Program, extending APS' proven training architecture with additional aircraft-relevant integration for Bombardier pilots and operators.

The integrated UPRT architecture is designed to develop resilient upset prevention and recovery competencies that transfer across fixed-wing aircraft. The Bombardier Family UPRT Program builds on that foundation by helping pilots further integrate those competencies within the handling characteristics, automation environment, performance considerations and mission profiles associated with Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft.

Rather than teaching a separate set of recovery techniques for each aircraft type, APS first develops the foundational knowledge, skills and decision-making competencies pilots need to recognise, prevent and recover from aeroplane upsets across fixed-wing operations. Aircraft-family programmes then provide an additional layer of operational refinement, helping pilots apply those proven competencies with greater relevance to the aircraft they fly.

“Effective UPRT must develop resilient pilot competencies that transfer from one fixed-wing aircraft to another,” explains Paul Ransbury, CEO of Aviation Performance Solutions. “Our Bombardier family programme builds on that proven foundation by further integrating those competencies into the operational environment Bombardier pilots encounter every day, making the training even more relevant and effective without compromising the transferability at the core of the APS methodology.”

Loss of Control In-flight remains the leading cause of fatalities in commercial aviation. Addressing that risk requires more than exposure to recovery manoeuvres. Pilots must develop durable competencies in upset recognition, prevention, aerodynamics, decision-making and recovery, then learn to apply those competencies under realistic operational conditions.

The APS Bombardier Family UPRT Program follows the company's integrated training architecture, combining academic instruction, advanced simulation and purpose-built on-aircraft training. This progression allows pilots to establish a strong conceptual and practical foundation before further integrating their skills into the systems, performance characteristics and operating environment of Bombardier aircraft.

The programme supports corporate flight departments, charter operators, owner-pilots, government organisations and other Bombardier operators seeking to strengthen their defences against Loss of Control In-flight while improving pilot capability, confidence and operational readiness.
