PPG has launched the Aeroview virtual aircraft painter, a web-based tool that lets business and general aviation customers explore and customise aircraft paint colours digitally.

The platform allows users to select from a range of aircraft models and apply colours from PPG's aerospace colour library to visualise custom paint schemes in real time. It offers a digital alternative to physical colour brochures, with 3D rendering replacing the need for printed swatches. The tool is currently available for U.S. aerospace coatings products only.

Lirong Bao, PPG global platform director, aerospace coatings, says: “The PPG Aeroview virtual aircraft painter is a sophisticated, easy-to-use solution for designers, fleet managers, maintenance planners and aviation enthusiasts to visualise and select aircraft coatings with confidence.”

Bao adds: “By allowing users to digitally customise paint schemes on specific aircraft models, this tool helps reduce design uncertainty, minimise costly repaint errors and accelerate project approvals.”

The tool offers hundreds of colour and finish combinations and lets users save, share and archive designs for future reference and maintenance planning. It also integrates with PPG's LiveryLab studio, which assists customers with livery design projects. The PPG Aeroview virtual aircraft painter is available via the PPG website.
