Embraer has revealed the Phenom 300EV, an updated version of its light jet, which has been the best-selling aircraft in its category for 14 consecutive years. The update centres on Garmin Emergency Autoland, making the Phenom 300EV the largest business jet fitted with the system, which can complete a fully automated landing if the pilot becomes incapacitated. Landings and take-offs are also supported by Autobrake, exclusive to the type in its class.

These capabilities are enabled by a new Embraer-developed Multi-Purpose Electronic Controller, which integrates rudder-by-wire and other electronically controlled functions to reduce pilot workload and simplify maintenance. Further additions through Garmin G3000 Prodigy Touch include 3D Taxiway Routing, Runway Occupancy Awareness, synthetic vision guidance, FANS 1/A+, RNP AR 0.3 and an inertial reference system, complementing existing features such as Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting, Autothrottle and Emergency Descent Mode.

Performance updates include an extended range of up to 2,055 nautical miles and an increase in maximum zero fuel weight, adding approximately 430lb of payload capacity. The aircraft also introduces True Blue Power lithium-ion batteries and LED taxi and landing lights to improve reliability and dispatch performance.

In the cabin, the Phenom 300EV adds line-fit connectivity via Low Earth Orbit satellites through Gogo Galileo, with Starlink available as an aftermarket option via supplemental type certificate. Other changes include an odourless vacuum lavatory, improved cabin temperature control, a redesigned refreshment centre and an air ionisation system. The aircraft retains a maximum cabin altitude of 6,600ft, one of the largest baggage compartments in its category and the largest windows in class.
