Dignitaries attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Avflight Corporation, a North American network of full-service FBOs, is celebrating the opening of its new, one-of-a-kind FBO facility at Cherry Capital airport in Traverse City, Michigan.

The ribbon cutting ceremony welcomed local and aviation leaders, including Kevin Klein, director and CEO of Cherry Capital airport, members of the airport board; and Avflight senior leadership.

Designed to reflect the natural beauty and character of northern Michigan, the 6,000 sq ft facility is the first of its kind for Avflight. The space features exposed wood beams, warm natural finishes, floor-to-ceiling windows, a large gas fireplace and an enclosed outdoor patio, creating an inviting atmosphere for travellers year-round.

“We're proud to open the doors to a facility that is uniquely northern Michigan,” says Joe Meszaros, senior vice president of operations for Avflight. “From the design and amenities to the exceptional service our team provides, every detail was thoughtfully considered to create a memorable experience for guests. This investment reflects our commitment to the Traverse City community and our excitement for the future of aviation at Cherry Capital.”

Guests are welcomed through a bright, inviting lobby and enjoy a host of customer-centric amenities, including a comfortable pilot lounge, private sleep rooms, a state-of-the-art conference room with full A/V and seating for six and a dedicated Moomers ice cream freezer, a favourite among guests.

Guests of the FBO have access to eight existing hangars capable of accommodating aircraft up to a G700. Future plans include construction of private, built-to-suit box hangars offering customisable space for long-term aircraft storage. With direct ramp access and full-service FBO support, the hangars will provide an ideal option for aircraft owners seeking a convenient northern Michigan base for regional travel and seasonal operations.

Kevin Klein, director and CEO of Cherry Capital Airport, concludes: “This new facility represents a significant investment in the future of air service in our region. Avflight has created a welcoming, high-quality experience that reflects the spirit of northern Michigan, and we're proud to partner with it in continuing to enhance our airport and the community it serves.”
