Bombardier has partnered with luxury lifestyle brand Elie Saab to create a bespoke cabin for the Global 8000, blending the worlds of business aviation and high-end interior design.
Unveiled at Bombardier's Aviator Lounge in Monaco during the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the project combines Bombardier's aircraft engineering expertise with a design approach more commonly associated with luxury homes, hotels and fashion.
The collaboration, first announced in 2025, reimagines the Global 8000 cabin as a living space rather than a conventional aircraft interior. Clean architectural lines, rich materials and a warm palette are used throughout, with a central lounge area forming the heart of the design.
The project was developed after the Global 8000 programme was already well advanced, allowing the teams to create an interior destined for a production aircraft rather than a conceptual showcase.
“When we began discussions with Elie Saab, the Global 8000 was already well on the path to becoming a certified, operational aircraft. This allowed us to go beyond concepts and rethink the cabin as a true living space, while fully respecting the performance and operational realities of the aircraft,” says Éric Martel, President and chief executive officer of Bombardier. “This collaboration pushes the boundaries of business aviation and reflects our relentless focus on elevating the customer experience.”
Behind the minimalist aesthetic sits a complex engineering effort. Bombardier's teams worked alongside Elie Saab's designers to translate couture-inspired concepts into an interior capable of meeting the industry's stringent safety, certification and performance requirements.
For Elie Saab, the project extends a brand that has steadily expanded beyond fashion into architecture, furniture and interiors. The cabin incorporates bespoke design elements drawn from the company's wider creative universe while retaining the Global 8000's long-range capabilities and multi-zone layout.
Available as an option for Global 8000 customers, the cabin reflects a broader trend across business aviation, with manufacturers increasingly using design, lifestyle and brand partnerships to distinguish their aircraft alongside traditional measures such as speed, range and performance.
