AMETEK strengthens support footprint with First Aviation deal
Six US facilities and proprietary aerospace repair capabilities join AMETEK's Electromechanical Group as the company expands defence and aviation support operations.

AMETEK has completed its acquisition of First Aviation Services, adding defence and aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities alongside a portfolio of proprietary aerospace components.

The deal brings specialist support expertise spanning advanced electronics, rotor blades and assemblies, propellers, landing gear and flight controls, while also expanding AMETEK's engineering and manufacturing capability across defence and aviation platforms.

First Aviation's businesses will continue to operate under the leadership of president and chief operating officer Paul Bolton as part of the North American Business Unit within AMETEK's MRO Division.

David A. Zapico, AMETEK chairman and chief executive officer, says: “We are excited to welcome the First Aviation team to AMETEK. First Aviation is an excellent strategic fit with our existing MRO business, creating attractive opportunities for market expansion and added scale in support of mission-critical aerospace and defence applications. Its proprietary products and services nicely complement AMETEK's capabilities and strengthen our position across attractive platforms.”

Paul Bolton, president and chief operating officer at First Aviation, adds: “AMETEK is an outstanding company with a strong track record of performance. They understand our industry and bring important resources to support First Aviation's continued growth.”

First Aviation Services generates approximately $80 million in annual revenue and operates six centres of excellence across the US. The company supports military, corporate and airline markets through aircraft parts manufacturing, component overhaul and rotables management operations.
