TracPlus hands O’Hara chief executive leadership role
Leadership transition to Todd O’Hara follows rapid firefighting technology growth, as operators face increasing pressure to track aircraft operations and spending more closely.
John O’Hara becomes president of TracPlus as Todd O’Hara takes over as chief executive officer.

TracPlus has appointed Todd O’Hara as chief executive officer as the aerial firefighting technology company prepares for further growth across global fire agency markets.

Todd O’Hara took up the role on 1 May 2026, replacing John O’Hara, who becomes president after leading the company as CEO since 2024. The move concludes a six-month transition plan inside the company, which supplies operational tracking, dispatch and data systems used by firefighting agencies in North America, Australia and New Zealand.

Todd O’Hara previously served as chief commercial officer and oversaw a major expansion period that included onboarding CAL Fire and deploying the company’s FireFlyte platform across some of its largest contracts.

The company says demand for operational oversight tools is increasing as fire seasons become longer and agencies face greater scrutiny over aircraft deployment and public spending.

A qualified pilot and flight instructor across helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft and gliders, he says the company’s role is becoming increasingly important for firefighting operators and government agencies.

“Our customers are protecting communities against fires that are getting bigger, faster and harder to fight every season, and they are being asked to do it with more accountability than ever before,” says Todd O’Hara.

“TracPlus has become the system of record the industry depends on. CAL Fire runs its dispatch, tracking and billing reconciliation on our platform. Australia and New Zealand's national fire agencies use it to manage their entire aerial firefighting fleets,” adds John O’Hara.
