H160 fleet brings NHV missions right up to date
The H160 helicopters will be configured for oil and gas, and offshore wind crew change operations, reflecting sustained demand for new-technology, cost-efficient and environmentally optimised helicopter solutions.
In the coming weeks, NHV's first H160 helicopters will become available to serve customers across the North Sea and Baltic Sea regions.

NHV Group is introducing factory-new Airbus H160 helicopters to its fleet, leased from GD Helicopter Finance (GDHF). The addition of these aircraft marks an important step in the the Belgian headquartered B-to-B helicopter services provider's, ongoing development, further strengthening NHV's offshore operations and supporting the next phase of its growth.

Lars-Henrik Thorngreen, CEO of NHV says: “The introduction of the H160 represents an important objective for NHV. It underlines our commitment to building a modern, efficient and resilient fleet that can support the evolving needs of our customers. As we add the H160 to our medium helicopter fleet, we strengthen our operational offering and create new opportunities to support NHV's continued growth in Europe and Africa. With latest-generation technology, improved environmental performance and high operational availability, the H160 is a strong complement to our existing fleet.”.

The H160 represents a new generation of medium helicopters and will further strengthen NHV's operational capabilities to support offshore energy customers across northern Europe and Africa. This includes both oil and gas operations as well as the rapidly growing offshore wind sector.

“With the H160, we have introduced a truly next-generation platform that redefines the standards of safety, efficiency and passenger comfort for the most demanding offshore missions,” remarks Régis Magnac, head of energy, leasing and global accounts at Airbus Helicopters. “Its arrival in the European offshore energy market is a pivotal moment; by integrating this advanced technology, GDHF and NHV are raising the benchmark for modern fleet operations across the region. Airbus is fully committed to supporting NHV's growth as it leads the way with the H160.”

In the coming weeks, NHV's first H160 helicopters will become available to serve customers across the North Sea and Baltic Sea regions. Operations will be supported from NHV's bases in Denmark, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium, with the United Kingdom to follow.

The H160 helicopters will be configured for oil and gas, and offshore wind crew change operations, reflecting sustained demand for new-technology, cost-efficient and environmentally optimised helicopter solutions. They will, in this initial phase, primarily operate from NHV's Den Helder base in the Netherlands, while maintaining the flexibility to be deployed to other locations in line with evolving operational requirements. The first commercial flights are scheduled for May 2026.

Michael York, CEO of GDHF notes: “We are very pleased to support NHV with the introduction of two Airbus H160 helicopters into its fleet. NHV is a highly respected operator with a strong track record in offshore operations, and the H160 is ideally suited to meet the evolving requirements of its customers. This transaction reflects GDHF's focus on placing new technology, multi mission helicopters with leading operators through flexible leasing solutions.”

This fleet expansion represents an important step in delivering NHV's 2026 business plan and reinforces the company's commitment to maintaining a versatile and modern fleet. NHV continues to invest in innovation and operational excellence to support its customers and contribute to the future of offshore energy.
