Comlux gains FAA approval for ACJ TwoTwenty cabins
Certification clears a US regulatory pathway for cabin modifications, allowing aircraft to be registered and delivered to North American customers.
The Indianapolis facility gains expanded authority to carry out design and cabin upgrades.

Comlux America has secured a supplemental type certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration for Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty cabin modifications, working with DOA21, a Comlux Group subsidiary and Design Organization Approval holder.

The approval enables DOA21 to certify ACJ TwoTwenty cabin designs under FAA rules, ensuring compliance with safety and airworthiness standards.

With both FAA and European Union Aviation Safety Agency approvals in place, the Indianapolis-based ACJ completions and MRO facility can offer ACJ TwoTwenty cabins to North American clients. Aircraft can now be registered under the FAA’s N-Number system, aligning with US regulatory requirements.

The certification builds on Comlux America’s earlier FAA approval of the first Boeing BBJ Max 8 cabin.

Adam White, CEO Comlux America, says: “The entire philosophy of the Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty programme has been to anticipate the customer's needs and offer a product ready to meet their expectations. While no ACJ TwoTwenty to date is on the N register, today marks the biggest step forward in ensuring when this comes it will be a timely, straightforward process.”

Peter Gaughan, CEO DOA21, adds: “As CEO of DOA21, I am immensely proud of the team's tenacity in obtaining this crucial approval from the FAA. This marks yet another significant milestone for the DOA and the whole Comlux team and another first for the ACJ TwoTwenty type.”

The added certification broadens Comlux America’s scope, supporting US-registered ACJ TwoTwenty aircraft while simplifying delivery timelines for regional customers.
