Gogo and Hughes advance Galileo rollout with 600 ESA shipments
More than 120 aircraft are already operating the Galileo connectivity system worldwide following continued antenna shipments.

Hughes Network Systems and Gogo have reached key milestones in their partnership supporting the rollout of the Galileo in-flight connectivity platform, with more than 600 electronically steerable antennas (ESAs) shipped.

The HDX and FDX antennas, designed and manufactured at Hughes’ AS9100-certified facility in Maryland, enable Galileo connectivity over the Eutelsat OneWeb low Earth orbit network. Built without moving parts and optimised for size, weight and power, the terminals are designed to meet the operational demands of business aviation aircraft while supporting high-bandwidth applications including streaming and real-time collaboration.

“Reaching these milestones demonstrates the strength of our partnership with Gogo, the maturity of our aviation manufacturing capabilities and our deep technical abilities,” says Reza Rasoulian, SVP and GM of the aviation business unit at Hughes Network Systems. “As demand grows for reliable, high-performance connectivity, we are delivering terminals that are proven in operation today and built for the future.”

Gogo confirmed continued scaling of the platform, with further shipments planned as installations expand across the fleet.

“Hughes continues to be a highly capable and dependable technology and manufacturing partner,” says Chris Moore, CEO of Gogo. “These milestones represent meaningful progress as we scale Galileo across our fleet and deliver consistent, high-quality connectivity to our customers. By the end of 2026, we expect to ship nearly 900 HDX and FDX terminals to our partners for customer installs.”

Certification across additional aircraft types and ongoing global installations are expected to support broader adoption of LEO connectivity across the sector.
