ACE 2026 - The home of global charter.
The bimonthly news publication for aviation professionals.
Vista Equity Partners has invested in Portside, strengthening the aviation software provider’s expansion plans and accelerating development of AI-enabled capabilities. The funding supports deeper platform integration and expanded global go-to-market activity. Existing investor Insight Partners remains a significant shareholder.
Alongside the investment, Portside has appointed Brandon Holden as chief executive officer. He replaces co-founder Alek Vernitsky, who continues with the company as a strategic advisor focused on product vision, AI innovation and customer engagement while remaining a member of the board.
Holden brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in scaling enterprise technology companies. Most recently chief executive officer of Eptura, he oversaw the integration of multiple acquisitions into a unified global platform while reshaping operational and commercial strategy. Earlier roles include senior leadership positions at LogicMonitor, Accruent and Forcepoint.
“Portside powers some of the most critical workflows in global aviation, spanning scheduling, safety and compliance, owner support and leasing," says Brandon Holden, chief executive officer at Portside. "Our opportunity now is to extend that leadership by delivering an even more unified and intelligent platform that connects the entire operational lifecycle. This next chapter is about scaling what we've built and elevating it to define the category globally."
"Building Portside alongside co-founder Alek Strygin from the ground up and watching it become the platform that the world's leading aviation operators depend on has been the privilege of my career," adds Alek Vernitsky, co-founder at Portside. "I'm proud of what we've accomplished and excited to work with Brandon and our amazing team as we continue our efforts to provide our customers with the industry's most modern and comprehensive platform across the full spectrum of aviation.”
The company says the expanded backing builds on Vista’s initial investment in 2024 and supports a broader strategy to define a global standard for aviation software platforms.
Development continues around Portside Horizon, the company’s cloud-based flight management system, while additional investment will expand customer success operations and commercial reach for operators, airlines and aircraft lessors.
