Yingling Aviation is celebrating its 80th anniversary, marking eight decades of craftsmanship, innovation and trusted partnerships that have helped shape business aviation.
The Wichita, Kansas company's story began in 1946 with a simple need. Its original owner wanted a dependable shop to care for his own aircraft. What started as a home for one airplane quickly became a destination for many, built on a commitment to quality work and lasting relationships.
“Eighty years in aviation is simply amazing,” says Chris Short, chief operating officer of Yingling Aviation. “This legacy has been driven by our people and the trust of our customers. Generations of teammates have built something special here, and we are proud to carry that forward.”
From mid- to large-cabin airframes to legacy programmes, Yingling has grown alongside the industry through many milestones, expanding its capabilities and deepening its expertise to support customers at every stage of aircraft ownership.
“As we celebrate this milestone, we recognise the people who made it possible,” adds Short. “Our employees, customers and partners have shaped who we are. Their trust continues to move us forward.”
From early aircraft maintenance to today's advanced cabin technologies and large-cabin programmes, Yingling continues to evolve with the needs of the industry while maintaining the standards that defined its beginnings.
From its facility at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National airport, Yingling today offers a full spectrum of services including aircraft maintenance, avionics, interiors, paint, propeller and engine services, parts support and FBO operations, supporting operators and owners across the business aviation community.
Yingling will commemorate the anniversary throughout the year with storytelling, customer engagement and industry events highlighting the company's heritage and future vision. After 80 years of keeping aviation moving, the focus remains on what comes next.
Editor's note: We all at Business Air News pass our congratulations to Yingling for this anniversary. The company was one of the very first advertisers when this magazine launched in 1987. We will always be grateful!
