Dutch Military Police benefits from Diamond machine
The configuration of the Diamond aircraft enables the platform to perform complex surveillance and reconnaissance missions with unmatched efficiency and reliability. QinetiQ accepted the aircraft.
The aircraft is highly customised for surveillance.

Diamond Aircraft has delivered a highly customised surveillance aircraft to QinetiQ, with the Dutch Military Police as the end user. This milestone reinforces Diamond's commitment to providing solutions for demanding mission profiles worldwide.

This project highlights the close collaboration between Diamond Aircraft and QinetiQ, ensuring that mission-critical assets remain at the forefront of technology. As part of the delivery, Diamond Aircraft performed a comprehensive retrofit of one of QinetiQ's existing and already operational DA62 MPP aircraft. This approach not only maximises asset lifecycle value but also demonstrates Diamond Aircraft's capability to modernise and adapt existing fleets to meet evolving mission requirements.

Diamond Aircraft delivered this solution as a fully certified, turnkey package, ensuring compliance with all relevant aviation and operational standards. The retrofit and integration work was performed under EASA Part-145 maintenance approval. By leveraging Diamond's in-house engineering and certification expertise, the project provided a seamless upgrade path for QinetiQ's existing DA62 MPP platform.

The aircraft has been equipped with an extensive suite of mission equipment designed to ensure superior operational capability and flexibility. Key systems include: Shotover M2 camera for high-precision imaging; Shotover ARS (augmented reality mapping system) for seamless operational control; Rohde & Schwarz multi-band radio for secure and reliable communications; Tetra radios for interoperability across agencies; AEM advanced audio router for optimised audio management; and line-of-sight (LoS) downlink for real-time data transmission

This configuration enables the platform to perform complex surveillance and reconnaissance missions with unmatched efficiency and reliability.

“We are proud to announce this achievement, which underscores the platform's role as one of the most capable and flexible surveillance aircraft in its class and our fleet,” says Mathias Mensing, head of programme management.

Diamond Aircraft continues to set new standards in mission-ready platforms, combining advanced technology with proven performance to meet the evolving needs of government and defense organisations worldwide.
