UrbanV and Alatau Advance Air Group (AAAG) are collaborating to design Kazakhstan’s first advanced air mobility vertiport network focused on Alatau City and the Almaty region to support future eVTOL operations.
The partnership follows AAAG’s letter of intent with Joby Aviation for up to $250 million of eVTOL aircraft and services to establish the country’s first air taxi service, backed by a memorandum of understanding with Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development which is committed to regulatory and infrastructure support.
Under the UrbanV and AAAG agreement, the teams will conduct network demand analysis profile routes assess attractive locations and evaluate airspace operational models and technology needs for vertiports. The first project is the design of a test centre in Alatau City to enable early testing and demonstration flights.
“We are delighted to work with AAAG on a project that contributes to building a safer more connected and more sustainable form of mobility,” says Ivan Bassato, chairman of UrbanV. “Kazakhstan is investing with ambition and vision in the future of AAM and UrbanV is ready to bring its international experience to support this important transformation.”
