Talon Air gains independence under existing leadership
CEO James Chitty and COO Nicholas Piazza have led the acquisition alongside aviation-focused investors, aiming for continued growth and broker partnerships.
CEO James Chitty will continue to lead the company, now as a fully independent business.

Talon Air, the Long Island-based jet charter and aircraft fleet management company, has been acquired in a private transaction that closed on 2 January 2026. The new ownership group is led by CEO James Chitty, COO Nicholas Piazza and an undisclosed aviation-focused investment group.

Previously affiliated with Vista Global through its 2021 acquisition of Apollo Jets, Talon Air will now operate as a fully independent business.

James Chitty says: “This is an exciting new chapter for our airplane owners as well as our dedicated team of employees, who provide the highest level of customer support and service.”

He adds: “By aligning ownership with leadership, Talon Air will continue to build upon the rapid growth in managed aircraft and charter hours achieved in 2025, by investing in new growth opportunities.”

In 2025, Talon Air added 12 aircraft to its management operations during the fourth quarter, including nine in December. The company plans to focus on forming new partnerships with private jet brokers and industry suppliers while maintaining continuity for employees, aircraft owners and charter clients.
