Desert Jet, a provider of full-service executive FBO and aircraft maintenance services at Jacqueline Cochran Regional airport in Palm Springs/Thermal, California, has expanded into Colorado with the management and operation of two brand-new hangars at Yampa Valley Regional airport in Hayden, serving the renowned ski destination of Steamboat Springs and the greater Yampa Valley region.

The two 28,800 sq ft heated hangars were developed by Wiens Real Estate Ventures and HDN Hangar Investment Group, which has contracted Desert Jet to manage operations under a business development and management agreement. The new facilities can accommodate aircraft as large as the Gulfstream G800 and Bombardier Global 8000, providing secure, modern space for both based tenants and transient aircraft owners and operators flying into the area for winter and year-round recreation.

“We are excited to partner with Desert Jet, whose reputation for excellence in aviation services aligns perfectly with our vision for Yampa Valley,” says Tim Wiens, principal of Wiens Real Estate Ventures. “This collaboration is a pivotal step in enhancing the aviation experience in this world-class destination.”

These hangars mark the next step in Desert Jet's broader national expansion strategy, following the company's previously announced plans to grow its FBO network beyond its recognised, award-winning Desert Jet Center flagship in the Palm Springs/Coachella Valley region. The Hayden development represents the foundation for a future world-class, full-service FBO, part of Desert Jet's long-term vision to bring a premier destination experience to Colorado's mountain communities. Under the management agreement, Desert Jet will oversee day-to-day operations of the new hangars, bringing its service model to Colorado and extending its hallmark commitment to exceptional service, safety and hospitality to new clients in Colorado's mountain communities.

“We are proud to extend Desert Jet's national reputation for service excellence to Steamboat Springs and the Yampa Valley,” shares Jared Fox, CEO of Desert Jet. “This expansion represents the next chapter in our mission to deliver the highest standard of aviation services to new destinations across the country. The new facilities at Hayden airport not only provide much-needed hangar space for aircraft of all sizes but also introduce Desert Jet's culture of safety, care and hospitality to the vibrant and growing aviation community at KHDN airport.”

Desert Jet's Hayden location will offer aircraft owners, charter operators and guests flying into Yampa Valley convenient and secure short and long-term hangar space with the same level of personalised service and operational expertise that has earned Desert Jet multiple national FBO awards.

This marks the first of several planned expansions as Desert Jet continues to grow its footprint in key destinations across the US.
