Austro engines pass five million flight hours with Diamond
The milestone reflects long-term operational tracking since 2009 and growing global use across training private and special mission operations.
Jürgen Schwarz, general manager of Austro Engine.

Austro Engine has reached a milestone as the global fleet of Diamond Aircraft powered by its engines accumulates more than five million Life in Network (LIN) flight hours.

Tracking of fleet hours began in 2009. There are now more than 5,500 Austro Engine units in service across 82 countries worldwide. The engines power Diamond Aircraft types including the DA40 NG single-engine aircraft and the DA42-VI and DA62 twin-engine aircraft.

The aircraft are widely used by flight schools private owners and special mission operators around the world. The accumulated hours reflect operational use across a wide range of environments and mission profiles.

Life in Network flight hours represent the total operational time of engines across the global fleet. The data is tracked through Austro Engine’s integrated monitoring systems and aggregates information from thousands of aircraft operating in varied real-world conditions.

“Reaching five million flight hours is a testament to the reliability and innovation behind our engines,” says Jürgen Schwarz, general manager of Austro Engine. “We are proud to support Diamond Aircraft and operators worldwide with powerplants that deliver exceptional performance and efficiency, day after day.”
