DAS takes over fellow Texas business AQRD
With DAS Aviation's reach and resources, AQRD can scale its engineering coverage, broaden repair capabilities and accelerate response, while also advancing engineering composite repair development capabilities.
Both entities are Part 145 repair stations.

DAS Aviation, an FAA Part 145 repair station with bases in Cedar Hill, Texas, and Solon, Ohio, has acquired AQRD (Aerospace Quality Research and Development), an FAA certified Part 145 repair station and aerospace engineering firm headquartered in Addison, Texas. The combination creates a single, integrated off-wing services platform that includes engineering, component repair, composites and parts.

“Acquiring AQRD, an engineering leader with longevity, professionalism and a standout reputation, raises the ceiling on what we can do for operators,” says Dan Podojil, vice president, DAS Aviation. “AQRD's engineering depth, paired with our repair capacity and parts inventory, eliminates the delays of juggling multiple vendors. One partner now owns the engineering, the repair and the parts, delivered with speed and accountability, setting a new bar for turnaround time, quality and AOG support.”

“AQRD was founded to empower operators with FAA-approved, practical engineering and rapid repair solutions,” adds Raj Narayanan, owner and CEO of AQRD. “I'm excited because this partnership allows us to do more of what we do best: innovate. With DAS Aviation's reach and resources, we can scale our engineering coverage, broaden repair capabilities and accelerate response, while also advancing our engineering composite repair development capabilities. This means bringing cutting-edge solutions to service more efficiently, benefiting our customers like never before.”

Why this matters for operators: one stop off-wing solution – engineering, component repair, composites and parts under one roof; faster path to RTS – technician focused engineering paired with immediate execution and parts availability; stronger AOG response – mobile teams, recovery services and embedded engineering support; and built-in innovation – data-driven engineering, rapid prototyping and faster certification for practical, field-ready fixes.

What customers can expect now: no change to existing points of contact; expanded access to engineering resources and technical data development; greater parts availability from DAS Aviation's growing inventory; and continued investment in AOG recovery and mobile repair coverage.

The integration begins immediately with no disruption to current programmes; customers will see added capabilities roll out over the coming weeks.
