Collins appointment strengthens DAS Aviation’s tech capability
The general manager role at Cedar Hill, Texas, will support operational efficiency and expansion of the company’s maintenance and AOG support services across its US repair network.

DAS Aviation has appointed Joshua Collins as general manager of its Cedar Hill facility in Texas, where he will lead the site and support expansion of capabilities across the company’s platform, with a focus on operational excellence and AOG support services.

Collins brings more than 20 years of aviation experience spanning aircraft structures, quality, production and repair station leadership. He began his career in heavy aircraft structural repair and progressed through senior roles across maintenance operations, FAA compliance and organisational performance, combining technical expertise with leadership in component repair, overhaul operations, quality systems and process improvement.

Among his most significant achievements, Collins led the integration of four repair stations into a single operation under one brand. The project included consolidating operations, standardising procedures, aligning manuals and ERP systems, integrating inventory and creating a unified structure focused on efficiency, accountability and customer service.

He also played a key role in developing an AOG support repair station operation, leading a facility relocation, implementing new equipment and workflows, streamlining operations and helping to build a lean team recognised for supporting critical aircraft on ground events.

Since joining DAS Aviation through its acquisition of AQRD at the end of last year, Collins has strengthened the Cedar Hill operation by implementing best practices, improving workflow discipline and supporting a culture focused on safety, quality, efficiency and customer responsiveness. His appointment comes as DAS Aviation increases workforce capacity and adds shifts to support faster turnaround of repairs and overhauls.

"Joshua understands how to build an operation that performs with urgency, discipline and consistency," says senior vice president Dan Podojil. "As we continue expanding our workforce and adding shifts, our focus is simple. We want to turn repairs and overhauls as safely and as quickly as possible so we can be there for our customers when they need us most. Joshua's leadership will help us continue improving efficiency, strengthening our capabilities and delivering the speed and service our customers depend on."

DAS Aviation is an FAA Part 145 repair station specialising in airframe structural repairs, sheet metal fabrication, component overhaul and repair, landing gear overhaul and repair, composite structures and engineering solutions. With facilities in Texas, Ohio and Colorado totalling more than 200,000 square feet of repair shop space, and an Illinois facility with more than 75,000 square feet of inventory, the company supports business jet, commercial airline and military clients. It also provides parts support, mobile repairs and recovery services.
