Global 8000 gains Transport Canada type certification
Bombardier’s Global 8000 has achieved Transport Canada type certification, clearing the way for its entry into service later this year.
The 8000 has a certified top speed of Mach 0.95.

Bombardier’s Global 8000 has achieved a major milestone with Transport Canada type certification, paving the way for the world’s fastest business jet to enter service this year. Certification by the FAA and EASA will follow in alignment with delivery schedules.

The Global 8000 programme has achieved several firsts, including a supersonic test flight, a first production flight in May and a certified top speed of Mach 0.95. The aircraft also sets an industry benchmark for passenger wellness, with a certified cabin altitude of just 2,691ft at 41,000ft – the lowest of any business aircraft in production.

“Bombardier has worked rigorously and collaboratively with Transport Canada toward certification for the Global 8000. This marks a pivotal milestone for Bombardier, our customers and the entire business aviation industry, solidifying the Global 8000’s position as the unrivalled leader setting a new standard,” says Stephen McCullough, senior vice president, engineering and product development, Bombardier. “This milestone is a powerful testament to the exceptional talent and dedication of our engineering, test and production teams. It showcases their deep expertise and unwavering commitment, qualities that are embedded in Bombardier’s DNA and are the heartbeat that drives everything we do for our valued clients.”
