At this year’s Air Medical Transport Conference in Omaha, Nebraska, Bell celebrated Air Methods’ agreement to purchase three Bell 407GXis. The operator also marked the delivery of a Bell 429, both of which will strengthen its air medical fleet and enhance response capabilities.
Earlier this year in Dallas, during VAI Verticon 2025, Air Methods also agreed a master purchasing agreement with Bell for as many as 27 aircraft. The framework covers 15 IFR-configured Bell 407GXis and options for 12 additional aircraft, complementing its existing Bell 429 order.
“Bell is proud to serve as a trusted company and helicopter provider to Air Methods with the continued expansion of its Bell fleet,” says Lane Evans, managing director for North America sales at Bell. “The technology and performance capabilities of these aircraft are unmatched, and we look forward to continue supporting its lifesaving mission for years to come.”
Air Methods operates nearly 300 bases across 47 states, transporting more than 100,000 patients each year. With the addition of the Bell 429 and upcoming Bell 407GXis, the company expects faster response times and improved support for the communities it serves.
“Adding these aircraft to our fleet reinforces our commitment to our patients and delivering lifesaving care to them when minutes matter most,” says Air Methods CEO Rob Hamilton. “They represent the core of our 399 aircraft fleet, and we look forward to continuing to build on that foundation.”
The Bell 407GXi delivers strong performance, fuel efficiency and IFR capability, while its adaptable cabin supports a range of emergency medical configurations. The twin-engine Bell 429, fitted with BasixPro displays and wide clamshell doors, supports search and rescue and other critical public safety missions.
