CHC prepares for EMS work on behalf of Petrobras
The expansion of CHC's EMS services into South America is a major milestone for both the global organisation and its Brazil-based team. It reflects CHC's global expertise in complex medical and search and rescue missions.
Starting October 2027, CHC will operate a dedicated and specially configured AW139 from Cabo Frio airport.

CHC Helicopter is beginning a new five-year contract with Brazilian petroleum corporation Petrobras to deliver EMS for offshore personnel in Brazil. This is CHC's first EMS contract award in the country. This dedicated service will ensure workers requiring urgent medical attention are safely transported from offshore installations to onshore medical facilities, with expert care provided throughout the flight.

Starting October 2027, CHC will operate a dedicated and specially configured AW139 from Cabo Frio airport. The aircraft will feature two stretchers and advanced life support systems, enabling in-flight stabilisation and critical care for patients in transit.

The expansion of CHC's EMS services into South America is a major milestone for both the global organisation and its Brazil-based team. It reflects CHC's global expertise in complex medical and search and rescue missions, with operations in Australia, Ireland and Norway, as well as its strong regional presence and trusted relationship with Petrobras.

CHC and Petrobras share a longstanding partnership. CHC currently provides crew change services across multiple offshore sites and was recently recognised, for the second-year running, as Petrobras' top provider for Operational Excellence in Offshore Transportation, a testament to CHC's safety standards and consistent performance. This new agreement builds on that foundation, reinforcing CHC's role as a trusted aviation partner in the region.

Licia Rocha, sales director, Americas, CHC Helicopter, says: “Our team is proud to bring CHC's world-class EMS capabilities to South America. This contract reflects the growing demand for integrated, high-quality medical transport services in offshore environments and the strength of our partnership with Petrobras. We're committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of offshore workers, delivering safe, reliable and critical services in the minutes that matter most.”

CHC is a global leader in emergency medical services, supporting both governments and multinational corporations.
