Entrol celebrates 20 years of innovation in flight simulation
The Spanish simulator manufacturer has achieved two decades of steady global growth, technological milestones and continued investment in its in-house development and facilities.
The key to Entrol's success is its unwavering commitment to in-house tech development.

entrol, one of the leading manufacturers of EASA- and FAA-certified FNPT, FTD and FFS flight simulators, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Over two decades, brothers Luis and Pedro Olarte have transformed a garage-based startup into a world-leading company. Today, entrol is recognised for its technological excellence, reliability and close understanding of the needs of operators, flight schools and law enforcement agencies.

After its first sale to a Spanish flight school, entrol’s international expansion took it to Belgium in 2008, Chile in 2011, the UAE in 2013 and Australia in 2022, completing its presence across all five continents.

Its client portfolio includes elite operators such as Air Corporate in Italy; training providers like Heli Protection Europe, which has acquired five simulators; and law enforcement agencies including the Spanish National Police.

The key to entrol’s success has been its commitment to in-house technology development, supported by a culture that empowers its team. Tomas Ladron de Guevara, project manager at entrol, explains: “At entrol, we promote two necessary factors to sustain innovation over time: a capable team willing to face challenges year after year and an environment where that team can grow and provide solutions.”

This culture has enabled entrol to grow its catalogue from four to 25 models. Other milestones include manufacturing the world’s first flight training device for the SkyCrane, pioneering the certification of simulators with LED visual technology (enwall), and making a successful entry into the full flight simulator (FFS) market.

“Looking back at what we’ve achieved in 20 years is incredible,” says CEO Luis Olarte. “But our greatest pride isn’t just growth, but leading the industry with milestones like the first LED simulator certification. We aren’t following trends; we are creating them, and that has become entrol’s DNA.”

entrol is now investing in its next phase of expansion. The company’s facilities will grow to more than 6,000m², with a new production centre capable of housing up to four FFS and six FTD units simultaneously.

“Our commitment is to ensure crews are always ready,” concludes Olarte. “We will continue to invest in technology and expand our global presence to empower pilots and operators with the most advanced tools on the market.”

entrol will host a commemorative celebration at its booth during European Rotors from 17–20 November 2025 in Cologne, Germany. Attendees will be invited to enjoy Spanish ham and champagne as the company celebrates with clients and partners worldwide.
