ARGUS enhances Gold audit to strengthen safety standards
The latest expansion of ARGUS International’s Gold audit introduces 14 new categories to strengthen operator safety and maintenance performance.

ARGUS International, Inc., a global leader in aviation safety and auditing, has announced a significant enhancement to its ARGUS Gold audit standard. This evolution marks a major step forward in ensuring that aircraft operators not only meet but exceed industry best practices in safety and operational excellence.

Previously focused on foundational safety elements such as pilot background checks, accident and incident history, verification of pilot experience, operating certificates and insurance, the ARGUS Gold audit has now been expanded to include 14 new audit categories. These additions provide a more comprehensive review of an operator's flight operations and aircraft maintenance programmes.

Key enhancements to the Gold audit standard include:

- Flight operations: Evaluation of safety management systems (SMS), emergency response plans, organisational structure, training programmes, fatigue management and flight operations procedures.

- Aircraft maintenance: In-depth review of maintenance management, personnel qualifications, quality assurance, training, maintenance control and planning, recordkeeping, parts inventory and shelf life, and documentation systems.

“These enhancements ensure that ARGUS Gold-rated operators are aligned with industry-leading safety practices and are well-positioned to meet FAA Part 5 SMS regulations,” said Mike McCready, president of ARGUS International. “Achieving the Gold rating now represents a proactive commitment to safety and a clear pathway to the prestigious ARGUS Platinum and Platinum Elite ratings.

”With over 400 operators currently holding the ARGUS Gold rating, many are already working to meet the new standard or progressing toward higher audit tiers. By choosing to undergo a rigorous third-party audit, these operators demonstrate a deep commitment to safety, transparency and continuous improvement.

“Operators who pursue the new Gold standard are sending a strong message to their clients and partners: safety and quality are non-negotiable,” McCready added.
