EHang has launched the VT35, a next-generation long-range pilotless eVTOL aircraft, in Hefei, China. Building on the earlier VT30, the VT35 is a lift-and-cruise model for medium- and long-range applications, including intercity, cross-sea and cross-mountain routes. It combines autonomous flight with efficient electric propulsion and is designed to strengthen China’s low-altitude aerial mobility network.
At its debut on October 13, 2025, attended by representatives from the Hefei Municipal Government, customers and suppliers, EHang revealed the aircraft’s final design and announced a domestic price of RMB6.5 million. The VT35 has a tandem-wing layout with two seats and uses eight lift propellers for take-off and landing, transitioning to a pusher propeller and fixed wings for cruise flight. It can fly around 200 kilometres and weighs 950kg at maximum takeoff.
The aircraft is compatible with vertiports used by EHang’s EH216-S, supporting wider intercity operation. It features autonomous operation, obstacle avoidance and full system redundancy. The Civil Aviation Administration of China accepted EHang’s type certificate application in March 2025, and the model is now under testing and certification.
EHang signed cooperation agreements with Zhejiang Zhiyi UAV Technology and Hainan Fuma General Aviation to promote and operate the VT35. Hefei’s municipal platform company has already placed purchase orders.
Wang Zhao, chief operating officer of EHang, says the VT35 marks “a major milestone towards our advanced air mobility vision”. JAC Group’s deputy general manager Yin Xingke adds that it “represents a convergence of intelligent connectivity, new energy and advanced manufacturing”. Founder and CEO Huazhi Hu says EHang is “continuously optimising aircraft performance and expanding applications for a greener, shared future”.
