The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has partnered with industry providers to make sustainable aviation fuel available at Las Vegas-area airports in conjunction with the 2025 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE). The initiative underscores SAF’s growing importance in helping the sector achieve long-term sustainability targets.
Running from 14–16 October at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Henderson Executive Airport (HND), NBAA-BACE will see SAF offered at HND and North Las Vegas Airport (VGT). Several aircraft manufacturers are expected to fly their aircraft to the show’s Aircraft Connection using either physical SAF or SAF attributes through book-and-claim.
Book-and-claim systems, facilitated by participating FBOs and fuel suppliers, enable operators to buy SAF attributes when the fuel is not physically available. Operators take on conventional fuel but receive credit for purchasing SAF elsewhere, effectively offsetting their carbon footprint.
SAF can cut aviation’s lifecycle emissions by up to 80% compared with traditional fuels and forms a core part of business aviation’s net-zero by 2050 plan.
“By making SAF available to operators at NBAA-BACE, we're highlighting the importance of expanding its production, accessibility and adoption,” says NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. “Sustainable aviation fuel is a key element of our industry's long-term strategy to reduce emissions.”
The SAF rollout forms part of NBAA’s wider sustainability focus at the show, which will feature a two-day Business Aviation Sustainability Summit, an Exhibitor Sustainability Pledge, and mark the second anniversary of the industry’s Climbing. Fast. advocacy campaign.
