Vaeridion and Deutsche Aircraft partner for sustainable regional aviation
A memorandum of understanding will see the companies collaborate on technical and non-technical enablers, including flight testing battery technology for Vaeridion’s CS23 Microliner.

Vaeridion GmbH and Deutsche Aircraft GmbH have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly explore technical and non-technical enablers in the field of R&T and development, supporting their leadership in furthering sustainable regional aviation.

The collaboration brings together two companies with complementary expertise: Vaeridion with its CS23 all-electric Microliner, a cost-effective short-haul commuter aircraft for nine passengers, and Deutsche Aircraft, the D328 TC-holder and CS25 OEM developing the 40-seat D328eco, a 100 per cent SAF-ready regional aircraft.

Deutsche Aircraft, the only OEM in Germany with full system integration capabilities, will support Vaeridion in flight testing its advanced battery technology on the flying test bed UpLift D-CUPL from the German Aerospace Center. Deutsche Aircraft will also contribute its expertise in structural design, industrialisation and testing of new aircraft to the Microliner development.

“This MoU marks a pivotal moment in our journey toward emission-free regional flights,” says Markus Kochs-Kamper, CTO and managing director of Vaeridion. “By uniting our technological expertise with Deutsche Aircraft's long-standing engineering excellence and design quality, we aim to accelerate the Microliner programme and provide sustainable, cost-effective air travel solutions to underserved markets in Europe and beyond.”

Frederic Fischer, head of R&T at Deutsche Aircraft, adds, “We are proud to collaborate with Vaeridion in shaping the future of regional aviation. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to innovation, sustainability and the transformation of air mobility.”

Both organisations are based in the greater Munich area and maintain a presence at the AirTech Campus at Oberpfaffenhofen airport, embedding the collaboration within the German and broader European aviation innovation ecosystem. The partnership aligns with both parties' ongoing commitment to revitalising local communities and underserved routes with the most innovative aviation solutions, and showcases the strength of Bavarian aerospace expertise.
