Global business jet activity rose sharply during week 37 (8–14 September), with 78,705 departures recorded, up 12% year-on-year and 7% on the previous week, according to WingX. The period was the second busiest in the past 12 months, with week 26 remaining the highest at 78,808 flights.
The latest week delivered the largest year-on-year growth of 2025 to date. Two other weeks this year have exceeded 10% growth, helping drive third-quarter activity up to more than 5.4%.
North America drove global expansion, with departures rising 15% year-on-year to 55,566. The United States accounted for 53,494 flights, also up 15%. Texas matched this with 15% more activity, while California and Florida posted 13% and 6% increases. Part 91K and 135 activity exceeded the wider market with 17% year-on-year growth.
Europe trailed with only 2% growth. Italy stood out at 15%, while the UK and Switzerland gained 4% each. Germany and France dragged the regional total down with 4% and 2% declines. The continent recorded just over 50,000 flights in the past four weeks, equal to 2% growth.
Elsewhere, South America led with 21% more flights, Africa followed with 17% and the Middle East gained 7%. Asia contracted by 6%.
Las Vegas was a major hotspot, spurred by the Alvarez-Crawford boxing match at Allegiant Stadium on 13 September. Local airports logged 640 business jet movements between 12–14 September, 46% higher than the same dates in 2024 and far above the 2025 average of 419 weekend flights.
Richard Koe, WingX managing director, says: “Week 37's 12% growth is the strongest we've seen all year, driven largely by North America's exceptional 15% surge. The Crawford-Canelo fight in Las Vegas shows how historic sporting events continue to be major traffic drivers. With Q3 activity up over 5%, the momentum heading into the autumn season looks very solid.”
