Volocopter signs EFT deal for eVTOL training courses
The collaboration will focus on building comprehensive training modules that provide pilots with ground familiarisation, remote operations and flight test experience.

Volocopter has signed a memorandum of understanding with Germany's Euro Flight Test (EFT) to deliver the first training courses for eVTOL operations. The collaboration is intended to set a framework for pilot training and familiarisation with eVTOL aircraft.

Training modules will cover ground-based familiarisation, remote controlled drone operation, flight test sessions for pilots and wider eVTOL-specific training.

“We are thrilled to partner with Euro Flight Test to launch these pioneering eVTOL training courses,” says David Bausek, CTO at Volocopter. “As the urban air mobility industry continues to grow, it is crucial to have well-trained pilots who are familiar with the intricacies of eVTOL aircraft. This collaboration will help set the standard for eVTOL pilot training worldwide.”

Euro Flight Test, which is known for its test pilot and engineer education, brings extensive expertise.

“Our partnership with Volocopter marks a significant milestone in the aviation industry,” says Peter Hemmert, managing director at EFT. “Together, we will provide pilots with the knowledge and skills they need to safely and effectively operate eVTOL aircraft, paving the way for the future of urban air mobility.”
