XTI Aerospace has selected the Garmin G700 TXi avionics system for its TriFan 600 aircraft.
The decision was described as a milestone for the TriFan 600 programme, bringing advanced situational awareness and future-ready cockpit technology.
The Garmin G700 TXi suite includes large-format touch displays, synthetic vision, advanced flight management, dynamic maps, satellite weather and autopilot functions. It also features open architecture for integration with engine systems.
“This avionics suite is a fantastic match for the TriFan 600,” says Don Purdy, SVP and interim president of XTI Aircraft. “Garmin's G700 TXi offers the reliability, innovation and pilot features to efficiently and safely operate the transformational xVTOL aircraft, operating from traditional runways, short runways, heliports and other approved landing areas.”
The TriFan 600 is a fixed-wing aircraft with vertical lift, combining the speed and range of a business jet with the flexibility of a helicopter. It uses three ducted fans for vertical take-off and landing before transitioning to forward flight.
Developmental flight tests are planned for 2027 as the programme moves toward FAA certification. Interest has been shown across business aviation, emergency medical transport and regional air mobility sectors.
