MT-Propeller secures EASA approval for Titan prop upgrade
The installation improves take-off, climb and cruise performance while reducing weight and cabin noise for operators.
The installation features enhanced take-off distance by approximately 5%.

MT-Propeller has secured EASA STC 10087533 for the installation of its four-blade MTV-16-1-E-C-F/CF225-37a propeller on Cessna 404/406 Titan aircraft powered by Teledyne Continental GTSIO-520-M engines. The FAA STC is currently being processed.

MT-Propeller vice president Martin Albrecht says the upgrade improves performance across multiple areas. “The installation features enhanced take-off distance by approximately 5%, enhanced climb by approximately 3%, cruise performance increased by approximately three to four kts, is approximately four lbs less weight than the original propellers, and inside noise is reduced by three to four dB(A).”

He adds that MT-Propeller’s natural composite blades have been long proven, with significant noise reduction inside and outside the aircraft. They have no life limitation, are repairable in case of foreign object damage, and provide vibration damping for near vibration-free operation. Bonded nickel alloy leading edges offer additional erosion protection.

More than 33,000 MT-Propeller systems are in service worldwide with over 115,000 blades and 180 million fleet hours. The company holds over 230 STCs globally and supplies propellers for piston engines, turboprops, airships, wind tunnels and hovercraft, supported by 62 certified service centres.
