MT-Propeller has received Transport Canada Civil Aviation STC SA26-78 for the installation of its seven-bladed Silent 7 propellers on Beech King Air 300, 300LW, B300 and B300C aircraft powered by two P&WC PT6A-60As propeller turbines, and for the same models powered by PT6A-67A engines. The PT6A-67A is not the standard turboprop engine for the Beech B300 and B300C, but rather an option for these two models. However, this option can also be equipped with the 7-blade prop.

This installation is also supplemental type certified by the FAA under STC SA11914IB and EASA under STC 10085161.

Vice president Martin Albrecht says that the installation features the following advantages:

– General performance improvement (8% take off and climb, 4-5kts cruise)

– No propeller speed restrictions on ground while operating in low idle

– Lower ITTs at high altitude

– Unbeatable aesthetic ramp appeal

– Significant cabin noise and vibration reduction

– All models comply with the strict German Landeplatz Larmschutz Verordnung noise regulations of 2010 for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European countries.

Due to its smaller diameter, the seven-bladed Beech King Air 300 series propeller has more ground clearance for less blade tip erosion and FODs. The natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction, they have no life limitation and are repairable in case of a FOD. They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.
