Avincis marks 10 years of operations in Mozambique
Europe's largest provider of aerial transport and emergency services, Avincis, has celebrated a decade of delivering critical offshore helicopter services in Mozambique.
The company's fleet grew from one AW139 in 2015 to three aircraft registered in Mozambique.

Avincis has completed ten years of helicopter support for offshore energy projects in Mozambique. Its work began in June 2015 under contract with Italian energy company Eni and has since grown from a single AW139 helicopter based at Pemba International to a fleet of three.

Its current five-year contract with Eni runs to 2027, with options available to extend to 2030. By mid-2025, Avincis had already flown more than 570 hours, following over 1,000 hours logged in 2024. The missions support continuity and safety in a region of strategic energy development.

A team of 31, including 14 pilots and 12 technicians, carries out the work, assisted by local staff and apprentices in Maputo. The AW139 fleet offers reliable service in challenging offshore conditions.

Group CEO John Boag says: “Our decade-long partnership with Eni, built on safety, operational excellence and mutual trust, continues to thrive.”

Stefano Villanti, Leonardo’s SVP of sales, adds: “We congratulate Avincis for achieving this amazing milestone delivering effective and safe offshore transport operations in the region.”
